Six years ago, I canceled my subscription to National Geographic (after a run of nearly twenty-five years). There were problems.
I’m still on their mailing list: book offers, map offers, Christmas catalogs full of overpriced junk, and – most frequent of all – magazine (re-) subscription offers. Most of it goes unopened into the trash.
Today’s mail consisted of yet another such, this time offering a Welcome Back Anniversary Rate plus various free books & maps, if I re-subscribe.
Apparently they don’t remember threatening me with a collection agency. But I do – and I hold grudges.
