Apple released OS X 10.10 – aka ‘Yosemite’ – yesterday; so I downloaded it (last night) and installed it (this evening).
So far, it has annoyed me three ways:
- The hostname changed from ‘mongo’ to MacBook-Pro. (After a bit of poking around, I found the command to change it back: sudo scutil –set HostName mongo.)
- The upgrade uninstalled Java, so Minecraft won’t run. (Sub-annoyance: the Minecraft launcher only works with Java 6, which is ancient & deprecated.)
- The App Store is now downloading a second 5.29GB package, which it claims is OS X Mavericks. There seems to be no way to cancel this.
Aside from that, it seems nice enough….
